Considering a career as a real property appraiser? If you're serious about becoming an appraiser, take the first step by enrolling in Appraisal Institute education. Our curriculum is designed specifically to meet the education requirements established by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) and helps you prepare for the licensing exam in your state. In addition, if you are considering an undergraduate or graduate degree in business with a concentration in real estate, there are many colleges and universities through out the U.S. and around the world that offer education.

UNDERGRADUATE*:

A sample of undergraduate four year programs:

• Virginia Commonwealth (VCU)
  VCU offers courses in: Principles of Real Estate, Real Property Management, Real Estate Appraisal and others.
• Florida Atlantic University (FAU)
  FAU has courses in: Real Estate Law, Real Estate Development, Real Estate Appraisal and others.
• San Diego State University (SDSU)
  SDSU offers a minor in Real Estate including Real Estate Appraisal and Real Estate Economics, Theory of Real Property Value and other courses.

• Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green Community College (BGCC)
  Associate degree in real estate offers courses in: Real Estate Finance, Essentials in Real Estate, Real Estate Law and Real Estate Appraisals.
• Columbus State Community College (CSCC)
  Real Estate Appraisal degree offers courses in: Litigation and Expert Testimony, Real Estate Investing, Residential Construction and others.

GRADUATE:

There are several graduate level programs in real estate. The list below pertains to graduate schools where the Appraisal Institute has partnered to offer credits toward the MAI designation.
