Competence and adherence to high ethical standards are the hallmarks of a professional. In order to meet the requirements of the real estate appraisal profession, you need the guidance provided in Scope of Work, a new handbook by Stephanie Coleman, MAI, SRA.

The scope of work concept, which is central to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, 2006 edition, gives appraisers the flexibility to tailor each assignment to the circumstances of the appraisal and the needs of the client. While misuse of the scope of work concept can be disastrous, an appraiser who knows how to apply it in practice and to communicate it clearly in an appraisal report can enjoy increased security, opportunity, and success.
